Customarily, the bride’s parents, who are issuing thewedding invitations, are first mentioned on the invitation. This is mostespecially if they paid for the wedding. So, the wording should be somethinglike this:
Mr. and Mrs. George Stephen Sandler
request the honour of your presence
at the wedding of their daughter
Cindy Catherine Sandler
and
Harry Allan Johnson
on Saturday, 27th of September
2:00 PM
7069 Reed Street
Brown City, Michigan
Now, if the couples choose to pay for their wedding andissue the wedding invitations, their name must first mentioned. So the properwording for that is something like this:
Cindy Catherine Sandler
and
Harry Allan Johnson
2:00 PM
7069 Reed Street
Brown City, Michigan
But what if thegroom’s parents pay for the wedding and choose to issue the wedding invitation?Same rules apply when the bride’s parent issue the invitation. Their names arementioned first. However, the names of the bride’s parents must not be omitted. So the proper wording should be:
Mr. and Mrs.Byron Johnson
and
Harry Allan Johnson
2:00 PM
7069 Reed Street
Brown City, Michigan
