This holiday season, greet your friends and family to have a good year ahead. But how would you like to do that? Through New Year greeting card – the traditional papercut – or through more advanced one – the New Year ecards? Well, I must say it depends on the situation you are in or your recipient’s interest.
Traditional New Year Card
Sending traditional greeting card for New Year has pros and cons. They can be more heartfelt and personalized than ecards. Most recipients also prefer to receive a greeting that they can keep for long – as a paper, as a keepsake, as a remembrance – that during the holiday season, a person of their life remembered and appreciated them. New Year electronic cards or ecards, like traditional cards, has pros and cons. One of the advantages of sending New Year ecards is that they are convenient, hassle-free and, most of the time, free of charge. Your recipient can also receive it in just a matter of minutes. Yet, many people think that sending ecard is not as personal as they can be found free online. They tend to think that the sender didn’t exert too much effort sending New Year greetings to them. But like what I said, it depends on the situation you’re in and your recipeient’s interest. If s/he is an internet-savvy, s/he might appreciate the thought than when s/he receives a paper-cut card.

So here are my tips:
- Know your recipient’s interest before sending your New Year wishes.
- Decide what you will send 2 weeks before the occasion so you can have more time to prepare.
- I suggest, if you have enough time, send both types of greetings. Your recipient would surely appreciate the thought.
